Time-horoned Shanxi

Two of China's most famous cultural symbols have deep roots in Shanxi Province. One is the well-known Great Wall, crossing Shanxi in its northern part. The other is the mother river of Chinese nation, Huanghe (the Yellow River), which encircles western and southern Shanxi. Yellow River and the Great Wall are both the carriers of Chinese civilization, the namecards of "beautiful China". At the same time they are the signs and symbols of Shanxi's long history, splendid culture and magnificent mountain scenery. Shanxi's intangible cultural heritage, the paper cutting, dough sculpture are with superb skills. The special artistic performances in Shanxi include traditional opera, folk music, song and dance, etc. Popular destinations within Shanxi Province are: Wutai Mountain, Datong Yungang Grottoes, Pingyao Ancient City, Hukou Waterfall, Mt.Hengshan. You can also travel from/to nearby Xi'an, or Beijing. If you wanna a different China trip, Shanxi is your good choice for less crowded, more original...
