The Jinshanling Great Wall was first constructed in the Ming Dynasty by Qu Jiguang, a famous General of the early Ming Dynasty. He supervised and directed the construction of this section of the Great Wall. Now there is a cableway up to the Jinshanling Great Wall, however if by the cable car up tourists may skip over 5 watchtowers.
The Simatai section of the Great Wall is located in the northeast of Miyun County, which is 140 kilometers from downtown Beijing. It was firstly built in the early Hongwu years (1368-1398) of the Ming Dynasty. The watchtowers on the Simatai Great Wall show the elegant design and different structures.
